Introduction to Screen Printing: Discover what screen printing is and how the technique works.
Preparing Your Design: We will start by creating the screen printing film (stencil). Bring your own graphic as a template for the print and learn about the necessary Photoshop settings for raster graphic printing.
Preparing the Screen: You will transfer your design onto a stencil (screen). We will cover how to coat the screen with a UV-sensitive emulsion and expose it to the light. You’ll learn about coating, exposing, and washing out the screen.
Preparing for Printing: You’ll learn how to align and tape the frame with your design to ensure everything is set for printing.
Printing Your Design: Using a squeegee, you’ll pull the printing ink evenly across your design. You will learn about color application, ink selection, and the overall printing process.
Post-Treatment: The ink needs to dry and is then heat-set for durability. Additionally, you’ll learn how to clean the screen for future use.
